I hope the curmudgeon who lurks in many of us hasn't turned you into a Grinch when it comes to celebrating Christ. I hope that the wonder of Jesus Christ astonishes you… especially this time of year!
Why at Christmas-time? Isn’t the cross or the resurrection of Christ at Easter more spectacular? No doubt both are extraordinary events on which all of history is hinged. But the incarnation of Jesus Christ is an unfathomable mystery that confounds the deepest minds, yet is simple enough for a child to grasp. It reaches from the heights of glory to the lowly stable. It spans the breadth of eternity yet covers 33 brief years. It encompasses the infinite in the form of a tiny and helpless baby. It reveals the power and majesty of the Creator of the universe and displays the grace and mercy of a humble Savior who died on the cross for sinful mankind.
It is astonishing. It is glorious. And Jesus Christ is astonishing and full of glory.
This Christmas season at LowCountry Community Church our message series is called, “Glory.” We’ll explore the glory of Jesus in becoming one of us. I hope you can join us!

Taken up in glory.
