NewSpring is hardly a contemporary model of a New Testament congregation and Perry Noble though well thought of in some circles is hardly the type of pastor that we here at LCC should look up to. I say this as one who attended NewSpring for several years and have seen first hand the shenanigans, drama, and many Christ-less messages. I will be looking forward to hearing what words Mark Driscoll will have to share as he is often doctrinally and theologically the counterweight to Perry Noble, Furtick, and Warren. It should be an interesting conference for sure!

Jon,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Having attended NS many times, and having a daughter who served on staff, and having participated and gained valuable wisdom in one of Perry's coaching networks, I am grateful for that church and for Perry. He is a friend and a devoted follower of Christ. I believe that Perry loves God and is passionate about reaching lost people - just as we are at LCC. Methodology and philosophy of how we "do" church often differs, and every person has their opinion. However, Perry has to lead as God has called Him to do so and there is no debate that people are experiencing life change because of, and through, Jesus Christ at NewSpring. Praise God for that!
