Summertime is for many things: watching baseball, swatting mosquitoes, eating (homemade ice cream, watermelon [then having a seed-spitting contest!], cannonballs into the pool, enjoying the lake and beaches, road trips, cook-outs, treating sunburn, sparklers on the Fourth, enjoying family time and many, many other fun and wonderful things.
And for many people, summer also means reading. Walk into any bookshop these days and we are bound to see a section marked "Summer Reading."
