This is so cool. On October 30, the Opera Company of Philadelphia, and over 650 area musicians, met at Macy’s Center City Department Store in Philadelphia for a “Random Act of Culture.” The store has the world's largest pipe organ - the Wannamaker Organ. Without any announcement or fanfare they started performing Handel's Messiah.
Shoppers at first must have been wondering, "What the heck...?!" Their shock turns to appreciation and joy. This serves as a great reminder that people respond, and can participate, in worship - whether in church or Philly's Macy's Center City Department Store.
Enjoy the video and join us at LCC this Sunday as we continue our series on worship, "Encounter."
